Is Your Ontario Website Ready for AI Search?

· AdPulse Nexus

Owners are now asking: “Is ChatGPT recommending my business?” AI search readiness means AI systems can crawl your site, understand what you do, and cite you when someone asks a relevant question.

Five practical checks

Five checks cover most of it.

1. AI crawler access

Make sure robots.txt and hosting or firewall rules do not block GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, or similar crawlers from your key pages.

2. Structured data on key pages

Add Organization, Service, FAQ, and LocalBusiness markup where appropriate, so machines can read what you offer and where you operate.

3. Content that answers high-intent questions

Pages should directly answer the questions buyers ask (cost, process, timelines, fit) rather than only describing services.

4. Current citation visibility

Run a few Ontario-specific queries in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google, for example “What companies would you recommend for [category] in [city]?”, and note whether you appear.

5. Technical basics

Check mobile speed, clear internal linking, and that there are no major indexing blocks in Google Search Console.

Where most Ontario sites stand

Most Ontario SMB sites fail at least two of these checks. The free Instant AI SEO Audit runs the core of this diagnostic in about a minute and emails the results. For a deeper look at each signal, read what an AI SEO audit checks.

You can then decide which fixes are DIY and which belong in a strategy call. If you are weighing an AI adoption project, the free funding questionnaire shows which Ontario programs may apply.

Readiness is ongoing

Readiness is not a one-time project. Monthly monitoring of a short list of prompts, plus ordinary content and technical maintenance, keeps the baseline current.
